I hope all of my American readers had an AMAZING Thanksgiving yesterday! We had a good time, especially Lexi! During the day we went over to my parents and had dinner and watched Solo. Then, we went to my hubby’s parents in the evening for dessert. They had all of the cousins over and Lexi was on cloud 9 getting all of the attention and playing with Jaden’s younger cousins.
So usually we don’t put our Christmas decor up until after Thanksgiving, but this year we ended up doing it earlier because we were epoxying our garage floors and had all of our boxes inside so we thought, what the heck!
I know that many families will begin decorating now so I figured that today I would share some examples of Christmas trees that I love and I will also show you my tree!
So these first three trees are kind of what inspired my tree this year, although these one’s are WAY prettier. I was going to buy new tree decorations this year but with moving into the house and everything, I decided to just work with what I have and maybe after Christmas, I will take advantage of the sales and get some new decor for next year!
I normally do not like a lot of color on my trees (or in any of my decor in general). My husband however, does. So we compromise and I add a dash of color for our tree. Last year, we did a BEAUTIFUL red and white tree. This year, I wanted blush.
In the tree above, I LOVE the little pops of blue, green and pink! It’s not too much at all and I just think it looks gorgeous!
I love the fluff and gold that is added to this tree! I saw some feather boas on Amazon that would look perfect wrapped around a tree so I may order some for next year!
This coloring is my favorite! I love the gold with the blush pink! I also adore the bows. This year, I decided to use flowers but I am keeping the bow idea in mind for next year.
Here is a red and silver tree that I just think is GORGEOUS! This is very similar to our tree last year. I wish I would have taken a picture of it, and I didn’t.
Here is a red, white and gold tree. What I really like about this tree is the ribbon! Normally, I do not like ribbon like this on trees because I just think it’s too much most of the time but I like it on this one! It’s not too much at all.
So this is actually something I want to try next year. (I know, I am crazy for already thinking about next years tree right?) What can I say, I like to plan ahead! I LOVE the black. It looks so elegant and it pairs so nicely with the blush and gold. This is also where I got the idea to stick pink peonies in my tree this year.
So if you are someone who doesn’t like color in your tree, this is for you! Just some classic silver and gold. I am a sucker for some big round ornaments. I mean look at the size of those babies!
So here is a current picture of my tree! All of my ornaments are silver and white. I popped some color with some pink peonies and added some ivory peonies that my mom let me borrow from her fake floral stash. I also found the cutest yarn-star ornaments in the dollar section at Target! They were only a dollar each and they are so freaking adorable. I will put up a close-up shot of my tree next.
As you know, I live in Arizona and if any of my readers live here, you know that it has been so cold and rainy the past week!
Today, it has been nice and sunny but still pretty cool outside. With all of this cooler weather, we have finally been able to break out our winter coats and beanies.
So for today’s Friday Favorites, I want to share some of my favorite Abercrombie & Fitch winter pieces in my closet. If you didn’t know already, A&F is having an early Black Friday sale with select pieces that are 50% off which is AMAZING! So definitely head over there and take a look…after you’re done reading my post of course!
Also, please follow me on Instagram! (click here) I will be doing a fun little try on haul of everything I have bought in the past month that I can’t wait to wear this season.
Wool-Blend Dad Coat from Abercrombie & Fitch – $220
To start, I must say, I do not own this exact coat but I own a similar one from Banana Republic. I love this coat and think it looks so classy and chic! It is the cutest way to stay warm and dress up any outfit.
Colorblock Crew Sweatshirt from Abercrombie & Fitch – $58
This is currently my favorite sweatshirt that I own now! I LOVE how soft and cozy this shirt is and it fits so good! I also love the colors! Let’s just say there is nothing that I don’t like about it!
Lightweight Packable Puffer from Abercrombie & Fitch – $120 (on sale for $72)
Living in Arizona, it not common to wear puffers because it generally doesn’t get cold enough to wear one. However, I LOVE puffer jackets and I found this really lightweight one that is PERFECT for those in Arizona or other states where it doesn’t get CRAZY cold. I have to admit, it is so hard to find cute puffers too because a lot of the time, you just end up looking like a marshmallow, but I really like the fit on this one! It fits your body nicely without looking too bulky. You can also take off the hood, if you’d like.
Oh and one more thing, they have SO many colors available for this puffer!
Short-Sleeve Bodysuit from Abercrombie & Fitch – $18.99
So this clearance item is a staple piece in anyone’s closet! This bodysuit is SO flattering because it wears kind of like a slip so it slims everything nicely. For winter, this is perfect to pair under sweaters and cardigans!
Long Sleeve Satin Bodysuit from Abercrombie & Fitch – $58
So I have a similar bodysuit to this one that is also from A&F but it’s not long sleeve. I cannot wait for this to go one sale because you bet your butt I will order it so fast! Body suits are my new favorite thing because they are so flattering and you don’t have to worry about your shirt getting untucked. I also like that A&F’s bodysuits are very comfortable to wear!
Today, I am continuing our wedding series and I want to talk about MAKEUP! Specifically, mine. My bridesmaids did their own makeup, as did I, but I wasn’t picky at all about their makeup. Mine however, I took months deciding what tutorial to follow and what products to buy but I am very happy with how it turned out!
Since I had a bohemian styled wedding, I kept my makeup fairly simple. I did not want to go all out with the glam.
So let’s jump into it! To start, here is the exact tutorial that I followed and then I will talk about the products. I used most of the same products Bella used and then a few of my own.
BENEFIT PRECISELY MY BROW ULTRA FINE SHAPE & DEFINE – $24 at Sephora
To start, I used my favorite brow pencil in the world! I just filled in my brows as I normally do and set it with the…
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS CLEAR BROW GEL – $22 at Sephora
TARTE TARTLETTE IN BLOOM CLAY EYESHADOW PALETTE – $39 at Sephora
I did not use an eyeshadow primer. Instead, I did what Bella did in the video and I applied concealer to my eyelid and then set it with a setting powder, both of these products, I mention below.
As for eyeshadow, I used my Tarte In Bloom palette for my crease in the shades “Smarty Pants” and “Jetsetter”.
I also used “Smokeshow” to draw my wing.
URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALETTE – $54 at Sephora
Like Bella did, I used “Dust” for the main part of my eyelid and for me, it was intense enough so I was happy with it! She added another shimmery shadow on top of it to intensify it but it’s all up to you!
LAURA MERCIER FOUNDATION PRIMER – RADIANCE $38 at Sephora
I used this primer and I swear by this primer! There is a bit of a sheen to it, which I like, because it adds a glowiness to your foundation that makes it look more natural! I have oily to normal skin and this primer works wonders for me. I still use it to this day!
WET N WILD PHOTO FOCUS FOUNDATION $6.49 at Ulta
Bella used Milani’s foundation which I have yet to try, but I decided to use my Wet N Wild Photo Focus foundation for my wedding day because this foundation does amazing with pictures! Every time we take family pictures or anything, I ALWAYS use this foundation because it shows up the best in photos! This foundation is definitely a holy grail for me and the best part about it, it’s so cheap.
Also, as Bella did, I used a Beauty Blender to blend my foundation and concealer.
*DIFFERENT OPTION* TARTE DOUBLE DUTY BEAUTY SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER – $27 at Ulta
For my concealer, I did use the same concealer as Bella which was the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer BUT I just found out, they don’t sell it anymore!
So I will just tell you guys about my current favorite concealer and that is the infamous Tarte Shape Tape concealer! I am sure you have heard of it because it is most people’s favorite right now!
IT COSMETICS BYE BYE PORES PORELESS FINISH AIRBRUSH POWDER – $29 at Sephora
So Bella bakes her undereye area with the Laura Mercier finishing powder which I do love but lately I have been all about the It Cosmetics finishing powder. This is what Bella uses all over her face while mixing it with a highlight, which I will talk about next.
I baked my undereyes with the It Cosmetics powder and also used it all over my face while mixing it with a tad of highlight.
TARTE TARTIEST PRO GLOW HIGHLIGHT AND CONTOUR PALETTE – $45 at Sephora
For MY highlight, I took from my favorite highlight palette ever!! I LOVE this palette so much, it is by far one of my favorites!
The highlight that I mixed with my finishing powder was the shade “Lit” since that was closer to my actual skin color.
I also used the “Sculpt” shade in this palette as my bronzer and just applied that under my cheekbones, around my jawline and to contour my nose.
NARS BLUSH – ORGASM $30 at Sephora
Bella used the Nars shade “Luster” but I personally did not like this shade. It was hardly noticeable on my face so instead, I used my favorite Nars blush shade, Orgasm! I know the name is woah but the shade is honestly amazing! The perfect pink in my opinion.
URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER LONG-LASTING MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY – $33 at Sephora
Finally, I set everything with this amazing setting spray! My makeup stayed on perfectly throughout my entire wedding day and I am so happy with it!
Also, you might be wondering about my lashes since I never mentioned any lash products! I actually got my lashes done before my wedding, so I did not need falsies or mascara.
And that is it! As I said, I ultimately followed Bella’s tutorial and used many of the same products she used and also a few of my own. Mostly because I did not want to spend too much money on makeup and wanted to use mainly what I had. Luckily, I already owned many of these!
Yes, it’s me! I am ALIVE! I know it has been forever since I last posted and if you follow me on social media, you know that I have been living without internet for the past month and a half.
Long story short, since we moved into a brand new development, our internet provider had not been able to set up here yet and the permits took FOREVER to get approved. It is insane because there were about 10 families that moved in before us and they went even longer without internet!
During our move, Jaden and I got off of our parents phone plans and started on our own but we decided to go with a different carrier and since we switched over, our hotspot was also insanely slow.
Anyways, we are so happy to finally have internet and now we need to catch up on shows and I need to blog, blog, blog!
The great thing is that since I was still able to type up documents on my laptop, I have some posts all ready for you guys so we are set for awhile!
Since it is Friday and it’s the middle of November, I figured today would be a post all about holiday decor!
I like this idea because it is not super holiday-y and could work year round!
Here’s a simple idea using candles, a tray and some small bells!
If you have a long dining table, I thought this would be a cute, simple way to make a centerpiece. I love the lights too! It makes it look so pretty.
The other day, I saw that Target had these cute little house decorations in the dollar spot area and I thought they were so cute but I had no idea where I would put them. Then I saw this and thought this was such a cute idea!
How cute is this little centerpiece? I love the addition of the berries too, it really adds a little holiday touch!
I know garlands are HUGE right now and I thought this was a super simple idea for a garland! Also, Target sells little ornaments for really cheap and would be perfect for making a garland like this one.
Anyone else obsessed with these little glitter trees? I know I am!
If you are someone that has a bar area, I thought this was a super cute idea to add some holiday flare there!
Another simple decor idea using ornaments and glitter pinecones!
Here’s another idea with pinecones and some faux decor twigs!
I know a lot of people like to put their treats and candy out on display during the holiday season and I thought this looked so cute. It is also perfect if your holiday decor features a lot of red!
Hello everyone! As you are reading this, Jaden, Lex and I will be in the process of moving into our house!!
Make sure you are following my Instagram (click here to follow me!) so that you can see my Empty House Tour that will be posted on there (or might already be there!).
Anyways, today is October 1st and October is my favorite month for a few reasons. One, it is my BIRTHDAY MONTH! Woot woot! I turn the big 2-5 this year. Two, it is Jaden and I’s 2nd year wedding anniversary this month! Third, it’s FREAKIN’ HALLOWEEN!
I love decorating for Fall and Halloween so I wanted to give you guys some inspiration if you’re like me.
So like I have said before, the entrance to my house is very narrow which leaves little room for decor like this but I think I might be able to figure out a way to make it work, I just have to get creative!
I love the pumpkins up this entrance and the hints of black and white!
Another entrance I love is this one! I really like the black and white rug here. It is so cute! I also love the rose gold pumpkins in here. The trees are also really cute and I see ones like these at Target and Wal-Mart ALL the time.
If you liked those rose gold pumpkins, here is a little DIY for them! These ones have flowers in them but I think it is so cute and a really inexpensive way to add some “Halloween” to your porch if you don’t like all the orange and black.
I also thought this was a cute idea to put witch hats hanging by a string above the porch! It gives a little hint of spooky and a super simple idea.
This would also look cool inside you house too if you were doing a Halloween party or just because you think it’s cool!
I wish I had a fireplace so I could do fun things like this for the holidays! I love the bat garland here and I am thinking about ordering one off of Amazon and putting it somewhere in or on the house. I also think the bugs are super cool going up the side.
Here is another neat idea for a Halloween party! I LOVE the balloon arch. We always do a balloon arch at any party we have because it makes such a big statement and is super cheap! It’s also very easy, just time consuming so you’ll want to have some friends to help.
Here is another really cute fireplace idea! I love the skeleton just chillin’ here and the use of the letter board!
I know a lot of people have little benches like this in their entryway so I thought this was a really cute idea for that! This person went all out with the big sign and everything.
I want to put a similar table like this somewhere in my house so that I can decorate it for holidays so I thought this was a really cute idea for that!
I love the black and white pillows here and you could even use these around Christmas time as well.
I hope you found some inspiration on this post today! I can’t wait to break out all of my fall and Halloween decor once we get all settled in. We have a busy week ahead of us but I am so excited about it! See you guys on Friday! Unless you follow me on Instagram then I will be seeing you again shortly 🙂
Happy Friday everyone! So this week has been so stressful for me! As you know, we are moving into our house next week so we have been trying to get ready for that.
I have to admit, I have done a pretty good job packing and I am hoping to get a big bulk of it done this weekend now that I am off work!
Anyways, today I want to share with you some master bedroom inspiration! When Jaden and I first got married, we used my bed because I had a queen size bed. So that is what we carried with us to the apartment. When we moved in with my parents, they let us borrow their king size guest bed. Well, now that we have fallen in love with the king, we want to get our own to have in our house.
My parents are going to let us borrow their king size mattress so that just means we need a bed frame.
So lately, I have been on Pinterest looking at master bedrooms, trying to figure out what I want to do. Before, I had a “modern glam” thing going on in my room. I had a lot of mirror furniture! Now I want to change it up and go for a more “modern bohemian” look.
Here are some master bedrooms that have REALLY caught my eye!
This picture includes a lot of the elements that I plan to incorporate in the rest of the house like the light woods, white, and plants. Jaden is not a fan of putting blush around the house which he lets me do anyway but I try not to add too much!
I also love the pictures above the bed here! I used to have two mirror frames above my bed but now I want to switch them to big frames like these! I am also trying to decide if I want a cute saying or an actual picture.
What I love about this room is the big tassel blanket! I am looking for a big tassel blanket similar to this one but they are so dang expensive so I am trying to get a nice, soft one for a good deal!
Here is my tassel blanket again! I like this one over the black because I don’t like too many dark colors in my space. I tend to go for the more light and airy look.
My favorite thing in this room is the mirror! I currently have a big silver mirror but I would like to upgrade to something like this one. I found one from Wayfair for a great price so eventually, I would like to purchase that one.
I will also be putting a similar rug to this one in out living room which I am super excited about!
Okay, I know I said I don’t like too many dark colors but I am totally cool with hints of it. I love the black rimmed frames in this room and I think it adds the perfect amount of contrast to the room!
I love pretty much everything about this room! The mirror, the pillows, that throw and the ladder in the back! I am looking for a ladder like this one to put in our living room and I like the idea of putting a mirror above our bed instead of picture frames.
I also like how white the bed is and then just adding some throw pillows for contrast, I think it looks amazing!
This last picture comes from one of my favorite bloggers, Nina Williams! She is currently in the process of building her new home but this is from her old house. I LOVE the words above the bed and think it is so cute! I also like the gallery wall, although I wouldn’t do a gallery wall in the bedroom.
Hello everyone! One week from today, we will be settled into our new house and we can’t wait!
A new little thing you will learn about me this week is that I HATE packing. When we moved out of our apartment, I was STILL packing on the day that we moved. I don’t know what it is, I just…hate it? Normally, I am pretty organized and I hardly procrastinate but when it comes to packing up my place, I just don’t even care.
When we moved out of the apartment and into my parents, we knew that most of our stuff would have to go into storage so I wanted to make sure I could keep everything organized and safe while we waited for our house to be built. I looked for any tips I could to help me and now I want to share all of my favorites with you!
USE COLORFUL TAPE TO LABEL BOXES
We will start with my favorite tip! So when we moved out of the apartment, we had to make sure we knew which boxes were going into storage and which ones were going into my parents house.
My labels went like this:
Yellow – Kitchen (Storage)
Blue – Bathrooms/Bedroom (Storage)
Pink- Bathrooms/Bedrooms (Parents House)
Green – Other (Parents House)
This made it easier for my movers too so I could just tell them Yellow/Blue goes into storage and Pink/Green goes into the house.
I also took sharpies and wrote on the tape exactly what room the contents of the box were in and under the tape I wrote what was in them.
SHRINK WRAP WILL BE YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND
One of my friends from high school gave me this helpful tip and it helped so much! She told me to wrap my utensils in the kitchen like silverware and other cooking utensils. I love this because it keeps everything together and makes it so much easier when fitting everything in boxes.
If you’re like me, you keep your silverware and other utensils in little drawer organizers so what I did was just keep everything in the organizer and wrap the organizer so nothing would fall out. Then, I would just stick it in the box! It was so quick and easy and it made me shrink wrap so many other things in my apartment. Even things that probably didn’t need to be wrapped but I was like “SHRINK WRAP IT ALL”.
ASK STORES FOR BOXES INSTEAD OF BUYING THEM
Since I worked at Target and Victoria’s Secret and still had connections at both stores, I was able to get some boxes from there so that we didn’t have to pay for any! The Victoria’s Secret boxes were our favorite because they were nice and big and sturdy and they gave me quite a bit! Target gave me different sizes so that was nice when we wanted to keep certain things in their own box instead of mixing things.
If you did not work at places like Target and VS, you can still call places like Target or Wal-Mart and ask to speak to a manager and see if they will hold boxes for you. When I worked at Target, we did it all the time for people so it was no problem at all!
LIST EVERYTHING YOU CAN WHEN LABELING BOXES
So this one comes from my mom and honestly, I thought she was a little crazy until we had to dig through our storage boxes a couple times to pull out things we ended up needing.
Her and my grandma like to list on the boxes what is inside and they list pretty much EVERYTHING in the box. It is SO helpful in case you have to dig back through them later.
It’s also just nice to know what is inside in case certain things may be fragile and movers need to be extra careful with those ones.
WHATEVER IT IS…JUST THROW IT IN A BOX
When we moved from my parents to our apartment, I had a lot of help from family so honestly, everything was packed very nicely and moving was a breeze. When we moved from the apartment back to my moms, I had help from my mom but a lot of it, I did on my own and it definitely showed on moving day…
There was so much that I said “It doesn’t need to be in a box, I’ll just throw it in the car on moving day” and BOY WAS THAT STUPID.
We had so many miscellaneous things that it was such a pain! I really wish I would have just thrown things in boxes instead of carrying so many things individually.
You better believe that this time around, anything that can go in a box…WILL be put in a box!
TAKE ALL THE HELP YOU CAN GET
One thing I love about Jaden’s family is that they are amazing helpers when it comes to moving! My mom and sisters helped me pack up our apartment while Jaden’s family helped us move it into my parents. My mom also watched Lexi while we were moving so that was nice.
While we do rent a Uhaul, my Father In Law owns a truck so it is SO nice to have both of those to load boxes and furniture. I am ALL about taking the least amount of trips back and forth as possible! Jaden also has a bigger family than I do so having all the extra hands makes it so much faster and easier to move!
So if people offer to help move, let them! Also, if they offer to bring food on moving day, also let them! It is so nice not to have to worry about food on that day too.
DON’T WANT TO BUY CLOTHES BOXES? JUST GET SOME ROPE!
I tried to find a picture of this but I couldn’t find one and now I am regretting not taking a picture of my car when I did this..
Clothes boxes are expensive and I really didn’t want to pay for them. I also didn’t really want to just “throw” my clothes in the car because then hangers get everywhere, clothes fall off hangers and it’s just a mess.
I found this tip that said to get some rope and tie it between the two handles in the back seat of your car. I honestly do not know any other way to describe the handles I am talking about other than the “Oh S*** Handles” in the back of the car. So yeah, those ones.
Make sure the rope is tight and just hang your clothes on there! Simple as that.
JUST BUY THE BUBBLE WRAP AND PACKING PAPER
I know a lot of people try to get by without the bubble wrap and packing paper and if you are not about that paper/bubble wrap life, I won’t try to change you.
BUT it saved my life. Where I work now, we always have a ton of bubble wrap on hand so I asked my bosses if I could buy some bubble wrap from them and they let me have a giant roll which was AWESOME! I bubble wrapped everything.
It gave me peace of mind knowing all of my stuff was safe and since I am a master bubble wrapper now, I am confident that most (if not ALL) of our things will survive the move!
TIME FOR A BIG TRIP TO GOODWILL…OR FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE
For our last tip, this is my least favorite because it is time consuming but also the tip that I am SO HAPPY I followed after moving was all over!
I found that the best way to pack everything up was by making sure our apartment was cleaned and organized BEFORE I began packing.
So I went through everything a week or two before packing. I went through our closets and pulled out all of the clothes we didn’t wear anymore, went through decor and put aside everything I did not want anymore, etc. We made special boxes that were “donation” boxes that we had taken to Goodwill when we moved.
For things that you could get money for, like furniture, you can always put it up on Facebook Marketplace to see if you can get some money back! We did this with our couch and then put that money toward our new couch.
Once you get rid of all of the “junk”, it makes it SO much easier to pack up later!
If you are planning to move any time soon, I hope you found these tips helpful or keep them in mind! They definitely saved me!
We have a very busy schedule these next two weeks, starting tomorrow! We will be doing our final walkthrough for our house and signing closing papers at the end of the week and then finally moving in next week! I will TRY to get a post up next Tuesday so I am hoping to get it all typed out before then so I can have it scheduled to automatically post next week while we are moving. It might be our final chapter for our “Building Our House” series or another wedding series post, but we’ll see!
Also, be sure to follow my Instagram, click here to follow me, because I plan on doing an “Empty House Tour” before we start moving all of our boxes and stuff in so you will definitely want to check that out!
Happy Friday everyone! So I did not post anything this week because it has been pretty busy around here while we are getting ready to move but I asked you all on Instagram what you wanted to see this week and about 90% of you voted for my favorite perfumes/fragrances!
So I figured I would do that for this week’s Friday Favorites!
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet (1.7 oz) – $80 at Sephora
Let’s start with my favorite! This is Dior’s Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and it is probably the one I wear the most. This scent is made up of fresh roses, peonies, and a hint of grapefruit (which you honestly can’t really smell and that’s fine because I hate grapefruit!). It is definitely more of a floral scent, which I love! So if you are into fresh florals than you will love this one!
Gucci Guilty (1.6 oz) – $78 at Sephora
The next one I love is Gucci Guilty which I am almost out of! I wore this one A LOT while I was working at Target and I always got compliments from guests. Normally, I do not like musky scents but I love this one! So if you are one that really enjoys muskier scents, give this one a try! The notes in this perfume are geranium (found in many colognes, hint the musk!), pink pepper, lilac, peach, amber and a hint of patchouli.
Also, my husband doesn’t like this one which I think is funny because I wore this a lot at Target (where we met) and he never said anything until way later but now I just wear it when he is not around!
NEST Citrine (1.7 oz) – $74 at Sephora
Okay so this one is a NEW favorite and one that I found going through my sister’s perfume collection. Personally, I don’t own this one (yet!) but I often sneak into my sisters room to use it because it smells so dang good!
The notes in this one are lemon blossom, lotus flower, freesia, dew drop accord, and precious woods. Not sure what that last one means but hey, it all smells good! This fragrance is really good if you are into more citrusy/florals.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream (1.7 oz) – $86 at Sephora
Continuing on with the fruity florals, this is Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs. I keep a travel size version of this in my purse which is almost gone as well because I have used it so much.
The notes in this perfume are blackberry, jasmine flower, and white woods. I LOVE blackberry and jasmine so this one is perfect for me and anyone else who is on my fruity florals bandwagon!
Love Eau de Parfum (1.7 oz) – $25 at Victoria’s Secret (normally $58)
First of all, this is my all time favorite Victoria’s Secret fragrance. Second of all, IT IS ON SALE! I was working at VS when this perfume first launched and I fell in love instantly! I don’t know what it is about this scent but it smells so different from anything I have ever smelt before.
The notes in this one are fresh juniper, apricot blush and boyfriend tee. Yes, boyfriend tee threw me off too and I can’t tell you how many times customers came up to me and asked “what does boyfriend tee smell like??” and I was like “girl I have no idea but apparently great”! This scent is perfect if you are someone that likes something sweet and fresh.
How much do I love this scent you ask? I have this glass bottle pictured above, not one but TWO travel sizes (one for my purse, one for the diaper bag), and a body spray that I use after I get out of the shower!
PINK Warm & Cozy Mist – $16.50 at Victoria’s Secret
It’s funny because before I started working at Victoria’s Secret, I did not like this scent. Mainly because I do not like vanilla (warm scents normally don’t smell great with my pheromones). However, after working there and smelling this CONSTANTLY, it grew on me and now I really like it! For me, this was the easiest scent to sell while I was working there. I hardly had anyone that didn’t like it so that tells you it was pretty popular! I also kept this one in my belt and would spray it around the store while I was working in PINK.
The notes in this are simple…vanilla, passionfruit and coconut. I am a big passionfruit and vanilla fan so I think that is what makes it better for me!
PINK Soft & Dreamy Mist – $16.50 at Victoria’s Secret
Lastly, my other favorite VS Pink mist right now is this one! This one is more of a fresh floral scent (yet again! Told you those were my fave!) and I love how sweet and soft it smells!
The notes in here are violet petals, sun-kissed woods & fresh peony. I noticed I gravitate toward peony a lot as well which makes sense because it is my favorite flower! However, the violet is a lot stronger in this but I still adore it!
So there you have it, my favorite fragrances! Perfumes and body mists are probably my favorite beauty product to collect because I love all things that smell good! It always makes me feel better when I smell good or when my house smells good. What are your favorite fragrances??
I am so pumped about Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty! If you are not familiar with it, every year, for 21 days, Ulta will have some of the best beauty products on sale for half the price! Everyday, there are new and different items and it’s fun to plan out which days you have to go to Ulta and for what products.
So today I want to share with you all of my favorite in the last few days of this years sale, some of which I will be buying!
SUNDAY, September 15th – Tarte Tartlette In Bloom Palette
Normally – $39 On Sale for: $19.50
Ahh…my holy grail palette! This palette has been my absolute FAVORITE palette since I bought it when it first came out! It is seriously the best and every shade is amazing! My favorite thing about it is that it has the perfect blend of warm and neutral shades so it is perfect for anyone of any skin tone. All of the shades are creamy, pigmented and they blend so well!
I could honestly go on and on about how perfect this palette is but just trust me on this, it is the greatest palette ever and I have yet to find a person that doesn’t love it as much as I do!
WEDNESDAY, September 18th – PUR PRO Eyelashes
Normally – $14 On Sale for: $7
I love getting my lashes done, let me tell ya! But it is a lot of money and time to keep up with them so I still love a good ‘ol pair of false lashes! These ones are PUR’s Diva Lashes and they are so pretty! These lashes are very soft so they look so real and I LOVE that they are tapered at the ends to give it a more natural look.
I really like Banana Powder over other setting powders because I feel like it gives a more natural finished look. This one by Dermablend is a CLASSIC and if you were going to try any banana powder, this should definitely be the one! It’s also the PERFECT baking powder, in my opinion!
SATURDAY, September 21st – Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil
Normally – $24 On Sale For: $12
Another holy grail product of mine…I LOVE this brow pencil! I dabble between this and the Goof Proof pencil but what I like about this one is that it is thinner so it is easier to work with. This is another product that I would recommend to ANYONE.

This is my absolute favorite concealer ever and I have gone through so many tubes, it’s not even funny. I have only used this concealer since it came out, which explains why I have gone through so many but I can’t help it, it works WONDERS! ESPECIALLY when I was going through my newborn-baby-only-two-hours-of-sleep-last-night stage! Total. Lifesaver.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Something I was asked A LOT when we were living in the apartment was how I decorated it so cute while being on a budget. Obviously, since Jaden and I were just starting out AND getting pregnant so soon, we did not have all the money in the world so budgeting was important for us. However, I still wanted to decorate our little apartment and make it feel more at home.
When we first moved in, I HATED it. It was so noisy, we had horrible neighbors and the apartment itself wasn’t in the best shape. I tried to be humble and most of the time, I was fine, but being pregnant and dealing with everything was super stressful for me so it was important that I make our apartment as comfortable for us as possible.
I have to point out, my parents were a HUGE help when furnishing our apartment. My parents bought our dining table (from At Home) and they helped pay for half of our couch (from Living Space). This past Christmas, my parents gifted us with our coffee table because before, we were using the cheap little 4-foot foldable table and my mom couldn’t stand it! So I do have to give them some credit there but even though they did gift us with stuff, Jaden and I still had them buy our stuff from stores that were running deals and wouldn’t be crazy expensive!
Alright, now let’s get into it! Here are some tips on how to decorate on a budget:
1. ALWAYS look in the clearance section!
Home Goods and Target’s clearance sections were my best friend while living in the apartment, I’ll admit that 75% of the time, I did not find much but man, those times where you find that ONE item you have been waiting to enter the clearance shelf…it’s the BEST! I used to work at Target and a lot of that time, I spent in the Home section so I figured out that twice a year, Target will clearance out a ton of home stuff! How to know when those times are coming up? Well that’s my next tip…
-Also with Target…download the app AND get the Red Card! You save 5% every time you use your Red Card and you get free shipping online. When you use the Target App, you will always know what deals are going on and what they have on Cartwheel. I LOVE when they do the “Spend blank and get blank off”, I usually take advantage of those when they have them for home or groceries.
2. Ask the employees what they know!
Always get in good with the employees! At Target and Victoria’s Secret, we always knew in advance what promotions were going to be happening and if we really liked a customer, we would let keep them in the loop! At our Home Goods, we found out when the best days to go shopping were and when they got their shipments.
3. Always stick to neutral colors!
This is something I have had to learn over the years and it’s really helped me! I know by now that I get tired of color REALLY quick. For example, I will see a blue rug and I will ADORE it…for a week. Then I want a new one! And we all know rugs are super expensive!
So I have learned, that ESPECIALLY for high price tagged items, stick to neutral colors. You will keep them longer and won’t get sick of them as quickly. If I do want to add some color into my room, I do it with little decorations that do not cost a lot like pillow cases, little plants, or even throws.
4. Shop Around for the Best Deal!
Don’t be quick to buy furniture without shopping around first. Before buying anything, I spend like a few days researching numerous store to see who has the best deal on what I am looking for.
5. Some Things Can Be Bought USED!
I’ll be honest, I am not a fan of buying used and I rarely do it but I think my issue is I am super picky and I don’t like DIY projects because THB I am too lazy for that! However, I know a lot of people enjoy doing that and I SO wish I did because I would love to buy used items and repaint them or vamp them up!
I always browse through Facebook Marketplace and I find so many cute bookshelves, chairs, and other furniture!
The important thing to remember is what is okay to buy used and what’s not. Anything like couches, beds, pillows or appliances, I personally would never buy used. But things like bookshelves, tables, and chairs are totally okay!
6. Three Letters…D I Y!
Okay, so like I said, I am not a big “DIY” Person and I think it’s because I do not have a creative mind what-so-ever! I wish so badly that I did but I am hoping that once we move into our house, I will be inspired to get more creative and try more DIY’s.
If you are in touch with your creative side, I highly suggest looking up DIY’s. I recently found this girl who is the QUEEN of DIY’s and her Instagram handle is @frillsanddrills or you can check out her blog by clicking here. It is AMAZING what she does and she walks you through how to do everything!
7. Take Advantage of Those Holiday Sales!
When Jaden and I moved into our apartment, it was the beginning of November which means that Black Friday was right around the corner. We got most of our furniture around that time because we wanted to be able to take advantage of the Black Friday deals!
This time around, we are moving at the end of September so we JUST missed Labor Day deals. Luckily, some of our appliances are being held for us so we can pay for them after we close, that way we can still take advantage of those Labor Day deals.
If you are moving in around holiday’s where stores run their best deals, I highly suggest waiting to take advantage of them so you can get some furniture for a good deal! Especially the bigger pieces like appliances and couches!
Well there you have it! My best tips for decorating on a budget! I looked through all of my pictures to find as many pictures as I could of our apartment but turns out I never took ANY! I posted a ton in my Instagram Stories but I never saved them so this one above is the ONLY one I could find. This was our living room!
Couch was from Living Spaces. The white pillows are from Home Goods. The light blue pillows are from Target. The coffee table is from IKEA. The candle is from Bath & Body Works. The little plant is from Home Goods. Finally, the gallery wall frames are from Target!
