Hello everyone! So I know I have been a little MIA lately but it has been crazy since my family and I have been planning Lexi’s birthday party but I am back and I am so excited about today’s post!
My family has a love/hate relationship with planning special events. We love it because we like planning and pinterest-ing all these cute ideas. We also love looking back at the cute little party we all put together and it makes us feel so good! But we also hate it because man, can it be stressful!
It took me forever to decide what to do for Lexi’s first birthday and I was back and forth on so many themes. My little bug is OBSESSED with Taylor Swift so I finally decided that I was going to make Lexi’s birthday bright and colorful, just like Taylor’s latest videos. If you know me, you know “color” is way out of my comfort zone because I am a very neutral person with A LOT of whites. But Lexi’s party ended up looking SO CUTE and I am so happy with it!
So the centerpiece of the party was definitely this balloon arch! We LOVE balloon arches because they are a super cheap decoration that makes a big statement! We usually do one for every event in my family because they are so fun and we always get good comments about them! To make them is super easy too:
Blow up balloons in a bunch of different sizes. The amount of balloons will depend on how big you want your arch to be. For this one, we used about 150 balloons. Blowing them up will be a little time consuming so I suggest getting an electric pump to blow them up and also having a few friends help.
Using a balloon arch strip (we got ours at Party City), take the tied end of the balloons and stick them through the little holes in the strip. Alternate between different sizes to fill in the spaces of the arch and just keep going until it is the length you like.
Once your strip is long enough, simply cut it and hang your arch wherever you’d like! For this one, we used three command hooks to shape the arch around the wall and it held perfectly!
Under the arch, we put Lexi’s pictures in my mom’s picture wall. There are 12 picture frames and each one has Lexi’s monthly picture from 1-12 months. We also have our little dessert bar with cookies and rice crispy treats. We ordered cookies from Crumbl which were SO good! My grandma and sister also made the cutest rice crispy treats that were shaped like ones, dipped in white chocolate and then sprinkled. My sister also had these cute little donut lights that she bought forever ago from Target so we added those too!
Then we had our food table which consisted of Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips, fruit cups, my MIL’s amazing macaroni salad, waters, Hibiscus Lemonade and Lavender Lemonade. Above the table, we hung a banner that we designed and bought from Vistaprint.
We had opened Lexi’s presents on this little bench that my mom has next to a big window which was in the perfect location for everyone to see and comfortable for Jaden and I to sit on while we helped Lexi open her presents.
We also made this sprinkle board that was super cute! All we did here was get an 8ft foam board from Home Depot and we covered it with a white plastic tablecloth. Then we blew up different sizes of long balloons and taped them to the board with packing tape. We also bought a banner from amazon that said “treat yo self” and we just took the words off of the string and glued them to the board. This was Lexi’s backdrop for her cake!
Finally, we put together this cute little bookshelf with our thank you gifts and sign. The thank you gifts were little boxes of white chocolate covered popcorn with rainbow sprinkles. We covered the little box in plastic wrap and tied it together with ribbon and a little note that said “Thank you for sprinkling Lexi with love”. We also also handed out envelopes that had Lexi’s 1 year picture inside so people could take that home with them too if they wanted.
So that is pretty much everything! We decided to keep her party pretty simple with just close family and friends and it turned out perfect! Our little Lexi bug was so spoiled and she had a blast!
Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk about my favorite this to wear in the summer…sandals! I LOVE shoes. Always have. Sandals are one of my favorite things to buy and I probably own too many of them but hey…you can never have too many pairs of shoes, right?!
So I’d like to share with you my favorite sandals that I am going to be wearing this summer!
TORY BURCH MILLER SANDALS
I have to start with my favorite sandals EVER! I just recently got my first pair for Christmas from Santa (aka Mom and Dad) and I was stoked! I have been wanting these forever and I was beyond excited when I got them. Seriously you guys…I got them when it was still cold outside so I couldn’t wear them yet so I would literally take them out of the box and wear them around my apartment instead because I was that obsessed! Now, I wear them pretty much anytime I make the effort to get ready and go out. I’m still getting used to my new mom life.
My favorite part about them is that they are actually pretty comfortable and durable which I mean…better be for that price!
Tory Burch Miller Sandals, Light Makeup $198
TORY BURCH MILLER SANDALS DUPE
I know the Tory Burch Sandals are pretty pricy so I figured I would find a more affordable dupe for them here!
Circus Canyon Medallion Flat Sandals, Almond, $49 at Macy’s
RAINBOW FLIRTY BRAIDED SANDALS
I have loved Rainbow sandals for a long time now and these are the ones I typically wear to the pool or anywhere where I might get wet because they are the perfect beachy/pool shoes in my opinion.
The ONLY thing I have to say about these is that they take FOREVER to break in. The first pair I bought was in Disneyland and I wore them, brand new, and my poor feet were in so much pain! So you definitely need to break these in before wearing them for a long time.
Rainbow Flirty Braided Sandals, Sand $54.99 at Tilly’s
FLOJOS FIESTA FLIP FLOP
Okay, so you just need the most simple flip flop ever but you also want comfort AND to be able to wear them to the pool…BOOM these bad boys. My sister is the one that introduced these to me and I am obsessed. I like to wear these to work a lot because they are so comfy and super simple so you can wear them with anything. The best part…they are crazy affordable!
FLOJOS Fiesta Flip Flop, Black $14.99
ABERCROMBIE KNOT SLIDE SANDALS
When I first saw these sandals I was like…OMG THESE ARE EVERYTHING. I think these are so cute and they are definitely the staple sandals to have this summer! They instantly dress up any outfit while also being comfortable!
Also, I am freaking out because they are on sale right now for $19 and they have more colors! So definitely check them out!
Abercrombie Knot Slide Sandals, Blue $19 (normally $38)
STEVEN by STEVE MADDEN GREECE SANDALS
Alright so I have to admit, I don’t actually own these…YET. These sandals are going to be my next big sandal purchase (I might even order them after I post this post because they are also on sale!) because I have been dying for these! I just think they are so cute and I have seen so many girls wearing them this spring/summer!
Steven by Steve Madden Greece Sandals, White $55.30 (Normally $79) from Macy’s
So there you have it, my favorite sandals this summer! I hope you guys have been inspired to add to your sandal collection because as I said earlier…you can never have too many shoes!
After Jaden and I tied the knot, the next step was finding a place to live. For a few weeks, we were living with my parents until we found affordable apartments. At the time, Jaden was working for Costco and I was working at Victoria’s Secret and we had just started our jobs so we had to find a place that was cheap and would take first time renters. Luckily, we found a place that was cheap with apartments that were…well, let’s just say we got what we paid for.
Jaden and I knew our goal was to eventually get into a house after working for a couple years and saving money. Not even a month after moving into our apartment, I found out I was pregnant with Lexi! We weren’t trying to get pregnant and we knew it was going to interfere with our plans but we felt blessed and pretty much had the mindset of “Well, now we get to start our family and this baby just pushes us more into achieving our goals so we can give them the best life we can give!”.
After Lexi was born, we were ready to start looking at houses. We were fed up with apartment living. Apartment living just wasn’t for us and holy moly, the management was TERRIBLE! We started looking for houses in our budget but it was so hard to find anything in a decent area. Then, my parents heard about a new development near my in-laws. We checked out their website and got super excited because not only were these houses GORGEOUS but they were within our budget. Jaden is the one in our marriage that handles our money, and thank goodness because if I was in charge of money…we’d have none! He was working out numbers and found that money would be tight which scared him. We were living comfortable in our apartment. We were able to easily make all of our bills and have extra money for Lexi, eating out, dates and to save but this house would mean we would really have to budget and at first, we felt like we weren’t ready for.
Come January and I had a heart to heart with my parents and they made me realize that struggling in a house would be way better than living comfortable in a crappy apartment (in our opinion) especially now that we started our family. I talked to Jaden about it and we decided that we were going to go over and talk to the guys at the place where they were going to build the new development. We did and after talking with them, we were SOLD!
The houses we were looking at were right up my alley! White houses, black roofs, paved driveways and inside was very coastal with white cabinets, quartz countertops, gray tile…everything I wanted!
We moved forward and secured a lot and then gave all of our information to a loan officer who reviewed everything for a few weeks before letting us know we had been pre-approved and that everything was a GO with building the house! We are so excited about this opportunity and we feel so blessed! I plan on taking you guys through this journey with us and I can’t wait to finally get inside our house and start blogging about how I choose to decorate it. Jaden and I also plan to do some fun projects to the house too and you know I will let you guys in on everything!
So that is the beginning of our first home saga! We are hoping the house will be done before my birthday in October so we still have a while to go. Since we are still in the beginning, there aren’t many pictures or much to post about our house but as we get closer and closer to the end, I will definitely be updating here on my blog!
For now, I will share some pictures of the process so far!
So this was when they finally broke ground on our house! From this angle, you are looking at what will be our office (or possibly a nursery in the far future!) My sister is standing in front of what will be the front door area and off to the left of her is our garage.
This is in our backyard. Our backyard is pretty tiny but it’s all we need for now!
This is when they finally laid our concrete and then it stayed like this for WEEKS. I don’t know if they had to wait a long time for it to dry but it took forever before they finally got the framing up.
Finally, a few weeks later, we have the framing up! This was so exciting to walk and start being able to picture where we could put everything and see the size. Unfortunately, they don’t have a model home for our floor plan so we were anxious to finally be able to see our framing and know exactly what it looked like and how big it is!
And this is the most recent picture when they got the windows in! I had to take it from the car because Lexi was sleeping.
*ALSO, I officially have an Instagram for this blog! Follow it to be updated on all of my new posts and get an everyday glimpse into my life. You can access it through the Instagram widget on the side of my blog or by going onto your Instagram and searching nissastgelais_blog and you should find me!
Happy Tuesday everyone! As you guys know, (or maybe you don’t but you will now!) I have a beautiful baby girl named Lexi! Our little bug turns one next month and I have so many mixed emotions about it! I’m sad because my baby girl is getting big too fast but I am also excited because I love seeing her grow into the spunky little girl I know she is going to be.
Since Lexi is growing, we have been slowly packing away all of the baby gear that she has outgrown. Some of it we got a lot of use out of while other things…we may have used once or twice. I remember when I was pregnant with Lexi, I researched like crazy! I read about everything, took advice from other moms and bought everything I could talk Jaden into letting me buy for our baby.
So I figured I would tell you guys what we ended up using and what we didn’t really use and hopefully I can help any new mamas out there that are digging through all the research they can!
By the way, everything in the pictures are the actual products that we bought and used!
Dock A Tot
OH. EM. GEE. This is probably Jaden and I’s favorite baby product ever. I have heard from some mothers that their babies didn’t really care for the Dock A Tot but Lexi LOVED it. She started using it as soon as she came home from the hospital and slept in it so well. She finally outgrew the Deluxe at around 8 months which was sad but Jaden and I decided we are going to splurge and get the Grand too once we have the next baby or when Lexi moves to a toddler bed. That way we will have both sizes! My favorite part about it is that it’s so easy to take ANYWHERE. We had a two story apartment so we carried that thing all around the apartment, wherever we were, and just laid her in it. It is also super easy to wash which was nice! So in our opinion…definitely worth the splurge if you can afford it!
Dock A Tot Deluxe – Pristine White $275 from Dock A Tot
Activity Center
Oh my goodness, Lexi loved playing in this but only until she started crawling and then she just wanted to crawl around. But the good thing about this is that they can still play with it from the outside once they learn to stand so now Lexi still plays with this but she walks around the outside of it instead of us putting her in the center of it.
Skip Hop Baby’s View 3-Stage Activity Center, Silver Lining Cloud – $119.99 on Amazon
Baby Gym
This thing is what really helped Lexi master rolling over and begin to crawl so we loved this thing! She also LOVES kicking things so the piano part was fun for her.
NBD Corp Piano Baby Playmat Kick and Play Piano Gym – $49.99 on Amazon
Jumper
I think if Lexi got to pick a favorite on this list, this might be it! Next to her Penguin Wubbanub which we will talk about later. Obviously, she didn’t start using this until she was around 6-7 months and the first time we put her in it, she wasn’t too sure about it but she ended up LOVING it! She loves jumping in it and spinning in circles. She also likes to jump to music too so we blast Baby Shark and Taylor Swift’s ME! and she goes crazy!
Jolly Jumper, The Original Baby Exerciser with Super Stand – $192.87 on Amazon
Swing
So Lexi had two different swings. One was bigger and swung side to side that we kept at our apartment and the other was smaller and swung back and forth, this one was kept at my parents. In the beginning, while Lexi was smaller, she preferred the smaller swing at my parents house and at around 6-7 months, she started liking our bigger swing better. So we got use out of both of them which was nice!
Graco Simple Sway Baby Swing – Abbington $81 at Walmart
Graco Glider Lite LX Gliding Swing – Ripley $88.99 at Target
Pack N Play
So this is where Lexi slept in our room before crib training. Our pack n play came with a bassinet part but we never used it. What we ended up doing was setting the Dock A Tot in the Pack N Play and then put her in the Dock A Tot.
With that said, I would like to add this really quick…I KNOW bare is best. In no way am I telling anyone that they should use this method because I understand all of the SIDS rules and that anything in their crib or bassinet can be dangerous. This is just what worked for our family and it helped all three of us get some sleep at night so we were happy!
Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Reversible Napper and Changer LX – Holt $99.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond
Rocking Chair
So I have to admit, we NEVER used this in our apartment. I really don’t have any other excuse other than that it was upstairs and we were hardly ever upstairs! Now, we are at my parent’s house while we wait for our house to be built and we use our rocking chair all of the time! It has been a lifesaver lately and 90% of the time, it is the only way to get her to go to sleep.
Also, the rocking chair in this picture is not the one we have. Buy Buy Baby doesn’t sell ours anymore but it is also a Delta and looks similar to this one. We got ours on sale for $300 and we also had a 20% coupon that we got to use.
Delta Children Reston Swivel Glider in French Grey – $399.99 from Buy Buy Baby
Bottle Warmer
Some babies don’t mind room temperature milk but Lexi is high maintenance (wonder where she gets that from…) and demands that her milk be warmed to the perfect temperature or she ain’t havin’ it! So we use our bottle warmer every single time she has milk! Also, a little tip…if we were going out, we would warm up some water in the bottle warmer and then transfer the warm water into a S’Well bottle so that it would stay warm and then we would just feed her while we were out. I did breastfeed for the first 8 months too so we only did that if I didn’t feel comfortable breastfeeding wherever we were going.
Munchkin Fast Bottle Warmer – $24.99 at Target
Wubbanubs
Some babies take the paci and some don’t! Lexi Mae did and boy, are we glad she does! I thought the Wubbanubs were so cute and while I was working at Victoria’s Secret, I had a customer RAVE about it. So I had to get one. The first one I bought was a penguin one and to this day, that is Lexi’s favorite one. Since “pengy” (as we call him) was being used so much, we figured we would get some back ups so she also has a giraffe and a llama.
Penguin Wubbanub – $14.99 at Buy Buy Baby
Giraffe Wubbanub – $13.49 at Target
Llama Wubbanub – $17.49 at Buy Buy Baby
Little tip: We wash them by putting them in the washer with all of her clothes and blankets (we use Dreft). After going through the washer, we take them out and let them air dry. They dry super fast which is awesome! Once they are washed, we wash the pacifier part with warm water and dish soap before letting her use it.
Diaper Changing Station
Okay, I’ll admit, we never actually purchased one or had one in our apartment. I fought for it but Jaden would not budge, he thought diaper changing stations were absolutely pointless. Because what’s wrong with our bed or the good ol’ floor! But he ended up being right (don’t tell him I said that).
Dock A Tot Toy Bar
Yep. Never used this. Not once. We ended up just buying Lexi a little baby gym and she used that more instead. The Dock A Tot was used more for sleeping and Lexi has always been a very active baby so being confined in the Dock A Tot when she was ready to play was not her style! I am going to try to use it more with the next baby but we’ll see.
Bassinet in Stroller
Our travel system came with a stroller, infant carseat and a bassinet part to go in the stroller. I thought the bassinet part was cool and I’d see cute pictures of moms on walks with their babies in the cute little bassinet…but I was never one of those cute moms. We probably used this once or twice and that was it. Now we don’t use her stroller at all. My mom bought a smaller, more compact one that is way easier to take places or we just put her in the basket while we are shopping.
Bassinet in Pack N Play
Never used this. We had the Dock A Tot and she loved it so we didn’t even touch the thing.
Teethers
Okay, teething sucks! But Lexi would rather chew on anything but her teethers. Lately, she likes to chew on an otter pop. She doesn’t actually eat it though, just chews on it because the icy cold goodness feels good on her gums. Before otter pops, sometimes I would get a clean, soft washcloth, run it under cold water and then give her that and she’d chew on that for about 30 minutes. But she hardly ever touched any of her teethers. We tried! We pushed it, but Lexi wasn’t having it.
I hope there are some new mamas out there that could find this post helpful! I encourage you to read up on as much as you can before little babe (or babes!) arrives!
Before we get started, something you should know about me is I am a hair care freak! I LOVE learning about hair and how to take care of it. I have spent so much time researching and learning all about shampoos, conditioners, tools, dry shampoos, brushes, ANYTHING related to hair. So you’ll probably be seeing many haircare posts on my blog!
Almost every girl I know colors their hair. Before I got pregnant, I used to dye my hair black ALL of the time! My hair is naturally dark brown but I loved my black hair so much! After getting pregnant, I became one of those preggies that wanted to stay far away from dyes. So I gave up two of my most beloved things while I was pregnant…Dr. Pepper (anything with caffeine really) and dying my hair. It’s been about two years since I have dyed my hair and I am itching to do something new with it but I just don’t know what I want to do yet!
In the meantime, I have been reading all about safely bleaching your hair because I am thinking I might want to go lighter. All this research inspired me to write up this post for you guys! I wanted to share with you all that I know about taking care of your colored hair because even though your hair looks so dang good with that shiny new color, it actually does A LOT of damage to it. So without further ado…here are my best tips on taking care of your hair!
DITCH THE BOXES AND HEAD TO A SALON OR A PRO
With colored hair comes GREAT responsibility. One of the most irresponsible things one could do to their hair is use dye from a box. In these boxed dyes, there are LOADS of chemicals. Yes, all dyes are loaded with chemicals but boxed dyes are PACKED with them. No, I am not talking about the boxed color you get at Sally Beauty. These are different because they sell separate ingredients which allow you to customize the right formula for your hair. I am talking about the evil boxes you see at Target or Walmart that put everything in one box.
When you go to a salon, you are paired with a hair specialist who has had enough training to feel your hair, look at it and assess what your hair needs. When you decide to color your hair, they will go to the back and mix your color. When they do this, they make the dye SPECIFIC to your hair! They know how much of each ingredient to mix into your dye depending on your hair color, thickness and texture. Boxed dyes are a “one size fits all” kind of deal. So they pack these bad boys with a ton of chemicals to make sure it can color any type from thin hair (which definitely shouldn’t be painted with all these nasty chemicals!) to the thickest locks!
People tend to lean toward boxes because they can’t afford to go to the salon and pay $100 to get their hair done. I get it. We’ve all been there. I’ve had to take breaks in between dying my hair because money was tight at the time. But boxed dyes are not the way to go. Despite all the chemicals, boxed dyes do not last long on your hair. You’re looking at about a month (and that’s if you’re lucky) of the original color before it fades and dulls. Getting your hair dyed at a salon means your color will last longer (at least 3 months) before fading. In fact, your roots might start to show before your color even starts to fade! But that’s also if you are doing your part and taking good care of your hair and color at home. In the end, you’ll spend less money by just going to a salon. If you can’t afford to drop $100 on your hair…then it probably isn’t the right time to be getting your hair done.
So ditch the boxes! I can’t stress it enough.
2. NEVER USE BOXED BLEACHES AND GIVE YOUR HAIR TIME BETWEEN BLEACHES
Obviously, my discrimination against boxed hair dyes applies here as well. NEVER bleach your hair from a box!
I can’t tell you how many times my fellow dark haired friends have said “I can never get my hair that light!” or “Whenever I bleach my hair, it comes out orange-y and brassy!”. Oh, honey. Let me blow your freakin’ mind…it CAN get that light. But it’s a process and an expensive process to add.
Unfortunately, for us dark haired lovelies, we can’t just spend an hour at the salon and walk out with platinum blonde hair. If only it worked that way. Since the pigment is so dark and bleach carefully strips the “color” from your hair, it will take a couple times to get it to the point where you can finally express your inner Queen Elsa.
It’s also important that after each bleaching session, you give your hair time to “heal” before bleaching again. Your hairdresser will help you with the time you should take between sessions but it should never be like “one week” in between because that’s much too soon.
Another thing I’d highly suggest when bleaching your hair…get it done at a salon or a professional that specializes in lightening hair and knows how to treat it! After you bleach your hair, it’s extremely fragile! So you have to treat it with the right shampoo and a special deep conditioning treatment. They should also suggest other hair products that will add some much needed nutrients to your hair.
I know there are people out their that do this stuff out of their home and that’s awesome (also super convenient) but make sure your hair specialist has been doing this for a long time and knows what they are doing. I paid $50 to bleach my hair once (don’t judge okay, I was oblivious then!) and she FRIED my hair. I went home crying my eyes out because my hair was SO frizzy! I went to Toni & Guy and they were like “Girl…WHAT. HAPPENED. TO. YOUR. HEAD!” and then they had to do damage control. I lost 5 inches of my hair and they had to do a super intense deep conditioning treatment to save it. Needless to say, I will never make that mistake again! You will not catch me getting my hair dyed and cut for under $100. No way.
3. SPEND THE EXTRA PENNIES ON HAIR PRODUCTS & TOOLS
In hair care, you get what you pay for. Simple as that. The more money you spend, the better the product is for your hair and that is an absolute fact! Okay, so I understand that this post may seem like I’m trying to get you to break the bank…I get it. But this is what I mean by your hair is very special. Trust me, you want what is best for it. So let me just say this really quick…
I do not make “Kardashian money” whatsoever. I’m 24 years old, fresh out of college, newly married, new baby, building my first home and still driving the car my parents gave me when I was 16. I save up my money for the things I want. Trust me, it takes me awhile to save up for things like hair products, trips to the salon or any other fun things that I desire. You will not catch me at Sephora or Beauty Brands every week dropping cash on the latest products. But I save my pennies and once I can, I’ll spoil myself with a little something!
Okay, back to this post.
When it comes to hair products, get professional quality products. These can be found at places like Ulta, Sephora, or Beauty Brands. Steer clear of brands like Pantene, Garnier, Dove, Tresemme..etc. These brands are packed with chemicals that are terrible for your hair. Never EVER buy drugstore shampoos and/or conditioners!
The best thing to do is wait for Ulta or Beauty Brands jumbo size sale that they do twice a year! During this time, you get a big jumbo sized shampoo or conditioner for $13-$20ish bucks! That’s a freaking steal! Also, do your research. Different shampoos/conditioners work differently for every type of hair. For example, some people love the Joico brand (it’s a good one) but it just doesn’t make my hair feel good. I don’t know what it is! My personal favorite brands are TIGI Bed Head and Matrix Biolage.
Matrix Biolage ColorLast Shampoo
As for hair tools…same applies here. You will notice a BIG difference between your Conair Hair Straightener and your T3 one. The most significant difference between a $30 straightener and a $100 one is the way heat is distributed. In high end tools, heat is distributed evenly (think like convection ovens) which is a lot better for your hair. In hair dryers, high end ones push out negative ions which helps the hair dry from the inside out, instead of just simply pushing heat onto the hair like cheaper hair dryers do which puts a lot of damage on your hair.
T3 Cura Hair Dryer $235 at Ulta
T3 SinglePass Curling Iron $160 at Ulta
4. INVEST IN A DANG GOOD HEAT PROTECTANT
If you have a $5 dollar heat protectant…throw it away. Now. I can’t stress enough how important it is to find a holy grail heat protectant. If you color your hair, try to find one that will also help preserve your color since applying too much heat to your hair will strip the color faster. My favorite is Chi’s Heat Protectant but I also love Redken’s One United Multi-Benefit Treatment Spray.
Redken One United Multi-Benefit Treatment Spray $24 at Ulta
Chi 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protectant Spray $16 at Ulta
5. DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERYDAY
This takes some training but it can be done! It drives me nuts when girls say “I just can’t go a day or two with washing, my hair gets oily so fast!” Umm, yes…want to know why? Because you’re washing it everyday girl! I was one of these girls back in high school when I not only washed my hair EVERY DAY but I also flat ironed it EVERY. DAY. I give you full permission to cringe at this and cry “WHY NISSA WHY”. I know. I’m not proud. I had to train my hair to go days without a wash but once I did, oh my, the difference in my hair! Now I wash my hair every 3rd or 4th day.
DryBar Triple Sec 3-in-1 $26 at Sephora
IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo $27 at Sephora
Also, this is why we have our best friend, dry shampoo. Hallelujah to dry shampoo. Can you imagine a crazy, horrible world without it? My all-time favorite is Dry Bar’s Triple Sec Spray but I also like to use IGK’s First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo. Also, whoever made the messy bun acceptable in society, I love you. *virtual hug*
I’ll be honest, I could probably write a 10 page essay…wait no, I could probably write a NOVEL about hair care and go way more into detail about the chemicals and ingredients in these products, but I will just leave you with this post (for now). Like I said earlier, I care a lot about my hair and I have put so much time and money into learning what is best for it. I have gotten close with hairdressers who have taught me all they know have gifted me tips here and there.
So there you have it, my hair care tips for colored/bleached hair! I hope you guys found this post helpful and if you don’t already, follow me on Instagram (@nissastgelais) because I have a Highlight dedicated to hair care and on there, I share ALL of my favorite products at the moment and where I found them.
